1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Portrait Union, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Service Description

Portrait Union provides AI-powered image transformation services. Users upload photos which are processed by our AI to generate artistic variations. Results depend on input quality and AI capabilities, and are not guaranteed to meet specific expectations.

3. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You must be at least 13 years old to use Portrait Union.

4. Acceptable Use

You may not upload illegal, harmful, or copyrighted content you do not have rights to. You may not use Portrait Union to generate harmful, deceptive, or explicit content. We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Intellectual Property

You retain rights to your uploaded photos. Images generated through paid accounts are licensed to you for personal and commercial use. Portrait Union retains rights to the service, technology, and branding. Free/demo watermarked images may not be used commercially.

6. Payments and Refunds

All purchases are one-time payments — there are no subscriptions. Portrait packs never expire. Unused portrait units are eligible for a refund within 14 days of purchase, as described in our Refund Policy. If a generation fails due to a system error, your portrait units are automatically preserved.

7. EU Consumer Rights (Right of Withdrawal)

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal under Directive 2011/83/EU, which starts from the day of the purchase. For unused digital portrait credits, you may request a full refund during this period. For portrait generations already completed or digital downloads already delivered, the right of withdrawal is waived once you expressly consent to immediate delivery of digital content at checkout, in accordance with Art. 16(m) of the Directive. Physical print orders can be withdrawn until they enter production (typically within 24 hours of purchase).

EU consumers may also submit complaints through the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

8. Limitation of Liability

Portrait Union is provided "as is" without warranties. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding any claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory consumer protection law.

9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the European Union and the member state of the trader's registered establishment. Disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that member state, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights that entitle EU consumers to bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence under EU Regulation 1215/2012 (Brussels I Recast).

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify registered users of material changes via email.
